High frequency technology has been around since the late 1800s, it was developed by scientist Nikola Tesla and was used for medical purposes such as infections, wound healing, and strep throat.

 

 When the high frequency electrode is firmly inserted into the high frequency hand piece, a gentle alternating electrical current is generated by the high frequency machine which then passes through the attached glass electrode upon contact with the skin.
